The New York City Department of Correction (DOC) is an integral part of the Citys evolving criminal justice system participating in reform initiatives and strategies aimed at moving the city towards a smaller jail system without compromising public safety. The DOC is responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for our employees visitors volunteers and people in our custody. Importantly safe jails enable DOC to provide people in custody with the tools and opportunities they need to successfully reenter their communities. The DOC operates facilities and court commands across the five boroughs with more than 7500 diverse professionals and knowledgeable experts.
The New York City Department of Correction Information Technology Unit is seeking a candidate to serve as a Director of Center of Technology Ideation (CFTI). The Director of the Center for Technology Ideation is responsible for leading a cuttingedge innovation hub in DOCs IT division that fosters creativity collaboration and strategic thinking. This role involves overseeing technology ideation processes driving forward looking initiatives cultivating partnerships with industry leaders external partners and internal stakeholders.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in technology leadership innovation strategy and team management while performing the below in the key areas mentioned:
Strategic Leadership
Develop and execute a vision and strategy for the Center for Technology Ideation.
Drive initiatives that encourage innovation design thinking and emerging technology
exploration.
Stay informed about global technology trends and their potential applications.
Program Development and Oversight
Establish ideation programs and workshops to promote creative problemsolving.
Develop frameworks to identify evaluate and prototype transformative ideas.
Facilitate the transition of successful ideas into actionable projects and partnerships.
Develop the project intake and ideation process for IT Division and assess the demands
based on the priorities.
Collaboration and Partnership Building
Cultivate relationships with Various business divisions and partners to enhance the centers
capabilities.
Partner with internal stakeholders to align ideation efforts with organizational goals.
Represent the center at organizational events.
Thought Leadership
Share insights on emerging technologies and innovation trends.
Deliver presentations and workshops to inspire and engage business stakeholders.

Qualifications :
1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college in computer science engineering human computer interaction interactive media digital and graphics design data visualization communication or a related field and four years of satisfactory fulltime experience related to the area(s) required by the particular position and a specialization in a relevant technology process methodology and/or domain; or
2. An associate degree from an accredited college in computer science engineering human computer interaction interactive media digital and graphics design data visualization communication or a related field and six years of satisfactory fulltime experience related to the area(s) required by the particular position and a specialization in a relevant technology process methodology and/or domain; or
3. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and eight years of satisfactory fulltime experience related to the area(s) required by the particular position and a specialization in a relevant technology process methodology and/or domain; or
4. Education and/or experience which is equivalent to 1 2 or 3 above.
