Student Project Coordinator (Chalk River)

What Youll Be Working On

Our internships and Coops are designed to provide you with a business relevant project thatwill allow you to independently manage your own area of responsibility while receiving supportfrom an assigned Supervisor and Technical Mentor. Well help you discover your strengths anddevelopment areas in a challenging fun and supportive work environment.

Projects are scoped in alignment with your term length and typically focus on a currentconstruction project.

We are seeking a student to join us for a 8 month coop position starting inMay 2025. This position will be based out of the Chalk River ON.


Responsibilities:

Project Coordination:

  • Coordinate drawings and work specific scope/trades.

  • Review trade quotes verify material quantities hours and rates.

  • Participate in project meetings.

  • Conduct deficiency walks and update deficiency logs.

  • Issue warranties.

  • Take and coordinate progress photos.

  • Update field drawings and produce asbuilt drawings.

Field Coordination:

  • Perform quantity takeoffs.

  • Coordinate subtrade work.

  • Verify site conditions and coordinate with drawings.

  • Supervise subtrade work.

  • Set up and maintain record keeping.

  • Layout site lines and grades using total station.

Scheduling:

  • Update project schedules.

  • Create manual schedules and update schedules

  • Obtain scheduling information from subtrades.

  • Create and maintain graphical scheduling

  • Monitor manpower productivity.

This job description outlines the general nature and level of work performed by the StudentProject Coordinator. Who We Need On Our Team

  • You are currently enrolled in Civil Mechanical Structural or Industrial Engineeringprogram

  • You will complete at least one more semester of education following your internship andpossess a GPA of 3.0 or higher

  • Ability to lead and operate within an environment where change happens frequently

  • Ability to forge grow and maintain positive relationships

  • Exemplify the Ideal Team Player Hungry Humble Smart

  • Highly developed interpersonal communication and organizational skills

  • Sense of urgency and strong commitment to achieving goals

  • Ability to work collaboratively with a positive attitude

  • Residency or a valid work permit which would allow you to work for Bird Construction orone of our wholly owned subsidiaries

  • If you are selected for a role with client specific requirements you may be required tosuccessfully complete a preemployment Medical and/or Alcohol & Drug testing. All applications must include a current transcript
