Job Description

Te Whiwhinga mahi The opportunity

We are seeking a Software Developer (Mathematical Modeller) to join our team. In this role you will contribute to several projects at the Auckland Bioengineering Institute including 12 Labours and the NIHfunded HEAL SPARC and TARA consortia. You will focus on leading the development of the 3D wholebody scaffold map to support these global projects by generating a highimpact resource for sharing data visualizing datasets and making these datasets actionable for downstream analysis.  You will quickly develop strong collaborations capturing feedback to contribute to evolution of the tools and ensuring usability of this resource. Using detailed anatomical knowledge and data we strive to create an anatomically realistic human wholebody computational model that provides a generic scaffold for an average body. The person appointed to this role will be expected to contribute to the development of methods and tools to automate the individualisation of the generic scaffold to a given individual from a range of data that becomes available via these projects.

This position will also be expected to critically review and test the teams software products and provide recommendations for improvement and assist with documentation for models and model building workflows.

In addition to enjoying working on highprofile projects you will work with a large team of investigators and specialists located all around the globe and be supported locally by senior colleagues from whom you can learn and develop. This role offers the opportunity to gain exposure to a variety of work in other areas of the project and to build a large international network. As such this is a good opportunity for someone interested in career opportunities in the Bioengineering/Health Informatics research sector.

This is a fulltime 37.5 hours per week on a fixedterm contract for 12 months. The salary range for this role is $83300 $102900 per annum depending on experience and qualifications.

For more detailed information on the role accountabilities and requirements please review this Position Description.
