Job Description

Job Title: Engineering Manager Solar and Battery Storage Construction Management

Job Summary: The Engineering Manager will assist in the overall successful delivery of solar and battery storage power projects focusing on various technical diligence efforts. The Engineering manager will work closely with senior leadership team members and stakeholders to ensure delivery of highquality outcomes. The ideal candidate will have deep experience in renewable energy projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Technical Leadership
    • Serve as goto expert on renewable energy technologies.
    • Provide technical guidance on system design integration and optimization.
    • Evaluate and recommend new technologies.
  • Project Support
    • Create earlystage project designs and energy generation estimates.
    • Assist with technical aspects of project development including site assessment resource analysis project sizing etc.
    • Coordinate technical diligence of solar and storage energy projects.
    • Make recommendations to optimize project economics.
    • Collaborate with project teams to develop and implement optimized project solutions.
  • Design and Engineering Review
    • Assist in developing engineering design specifications and scopes of work.
    • Participate in equipment procurement process and make recommendations.
    • Provide careful review of design and engineering deliverables from internal stakeholders and external engineering vendors.
    • Document key decisionmaking processes during project design phase.
  • Regulatory Expertise
    • Stay abreast of industry trends policy changes and regulatory requirements related to renewable energy.
    • Advise on compliance with local state and federal regulations and industry standards codes and best practices.
  • Company Standards Development
    • Collaborate with Asset Management team on developing and maintaining various company policies and standards related to Project design and operations.
    • Assist in evaluating developing and implementing best practices including health and safety compliance across the organization.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree. Degree in Engineering Renewable Energy or a related field preferred.
  • 7 years of experience in renewable energy design engineering development construction or operations.
  • Detailed knowledge of solar energy and battery energy storage systems required.
  • NABCEP or other renewable credential highly preferred.

Skills:

  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in energy modeling software (e.g. SAM PVsyst Sift Helioscope etc.
  • Knowledge of construction safety standards and regulations.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
