Job Description

REQUIREMENTS AND PREFERENCES

The Broward County Board of County Commissioners is seeking qualified candidates for Business Development Manager.


General Description
This position is part of the Port Everglades Operations Division which builds and maintains profitable relationships with key cruiserelated customers. Resolve customer complaints quickly and efficiently and provide a strategic approach to our customer relationships.
Works under administrative supervision supervises the Customer Relations Specialists and ensures they nurture longterm relationships.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Requires a Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in business marketing hospitality or a closely related field.
(One year of relevant experience may be substituted for each year of required education.

Requires four 4 years experience in hospitality tourism cruise services or other guest services related to the area of
assignment.

Special Certifications and Licenses
Masterss degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in business marketing hospitality or a closely related field.
2 years of experience with Cruise Services/hospitality management
3 years of experience as a supervisor
4 years of experience in customer service
Project Management Professional
Hospitality and Tourism Specialist Certificate

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The functions listed below are those that represent the majority of the time spent working in this class. Management may assign additional functions related to the type of work of the job as necessary.

Oversees the daily relationship with cruise lines cruise guests vendors Broward Sheriffs Office (BSO) and other cruise stakeholders.

Conducts weekly operational meetings with Key external and internal departments and provides weekend reports for daily cruise operations.

Manages and resolves escalated issues that the customer relations specialists cannot resolve; Acts as point of contact for inquiries from guests and cruise lines.

Manage the Cruise Ops Team in working closely with the Port Security and BSO to ensure the efficiencies of the Ground Transportation (GTA) at the Cruise terminals and ensure they are meeting the needs of the cruise customers.

Ensures both Port Everglades and clients adhere to contract terms.

Supervise the customer relation specialists; complete performance appraisals for subordinate employees and ensure employee compliance with applicable rules policies and procedures. Provides employee job performance coaching and initiates corrective measures through management as appropriate; manages employee attendance following applicable County and Division policies.

Collaborates with other port divisions to address customers needs and provides ideas to develop innovative approaches to solve multidivision discrepancies in information sharing; External Affairs BSO Security Convention Center and other divisions.

Coordinates and builds relationships with the Broward County Aviation Department U.S. Customs and Border Protection Visit Lauderdale cruise lines and parking vendors.

Attends various trade shows and/or conferences to promote Port Everglades as a viable option for cruise homeporting or ports of call.

Coordinates site inspections of the cruise terminals adjacent berths and parking areas to ensure customers are getting the services needed and complaints are being resolved.

Evaluates and identifies growth opportunities and finds new ways to retain customers through superior customer services.

Promotes the Port Everglades services by addressing or predicting customers objectives and needs.

Keeps current with developments in the cruise industry; Works during weekends and oncall 24/7; required to be outdoors in the elements rain or shine.

Performs related work as assigned.
