Java Backend Engineer

As a Backend Engineer you will be responsible for building and maintaining the backend systems that power their cloudbased platform. You will also have the opportunity to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and ensure that the software developed is scalable maintainable and performant.

What will you do:

• Develop and maintain backend systems including console applications Linux daemons NT services data processing applications and backend services for web applications;

• Integrate with multidisciplinary teams and coordinate work with remote teams;

• Take responsibility for the software developed including delivery and maintenance;

• Design and implement solutions that are scalable maintainable and performant.

• Write efficient and clean code that adheres to best practices.

What you should know:

• At least 2 years of experience in software development with Java technologies;

• Knowledge of Quarkus or Spring;

• Solid understanding of complex distributed systems;

• Experience with databases both RDBMS and NoSQL with a preference for experience with MySQL PostgreSQL MongoDB;

• Knowledge of Cryptography and Security;

• Experience in handling large volumes of data efficiently;

• Familiarity with Unix shells and commandline tools;

• Prior experience with agile development methodologies;

• Experience with Kubernetes or Docker is a plus;

• Understanding of automated testing and deployments is a plus;

• Fluent in English.
