Job Summary:

A role that is enjoyable as it is diverse our Chalet host help with everything from reception duties to tidying up of guest room. They are often the first touchpoint to welcome our Guests and do everything possible to fulfill our guest requests. As the Chalet host your responsibility starts with the booking process continues with the bespoke itinerary curation and right through to arrival in Chalet and throughout their stay and until they bid farewell to Niseko.


As a Chalet host you will be responsible for maintaining the high standards of the accommodations by checking the rooms both after guests check out and prior to the next check in. This would involve ensuring that nothing has been damage or is missing and that the room is sufficiently clean and prepared before the next arrival.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To have complete knowledge of the SOPs P&Ps OM & Sequence of service of NISADE and to carry out duties while adhering to chalet policies and procedures e.g. guest
  • relation housekeeping chauffeur and etc.
  • Provide intuitive service to the customer by anticipating their needs.
  • Efficient personalized and friendly Checkins / Outs
  • Daily management of guest accounts and records
  • Making new bookings changes to bookings and cancellations of bookings for restaurants ski lessons rentals etc. & ensuring charges are accurately recorded.
  • Respond to Guest requests promptly efficiently & courteously during checkin checkout & throughout their stay
  • Assisting guest with luggage s Ski gear.
  • Pickup / Drop offs and transporting Guests within the village.
  • Assisting in times of guest emergencies / injuries and communicating with relevant departments
  • Maintaining up to date information on snow / wind conditions lift status and being knowledgeable on local mountain.
  • Respectfully and actively driving guest feedback for continual improvement
  • Ability to learn the operating equipment of guest rooms including TV / universal remote control quickly and comprehensively and troubleshoot appropriately.
  • Liaise and coordinate with outsource housekeeping company.
  • Daily Clean of guest rooms/Chalet to an exceptional standard.
  • Inspect rooms after guest departure for damage missing items lost property etc.
  • Checking rooms after housekeeping is complete and prior to check in of the next guests to ensure they are appropriately prepared
  • Ensure cleanliness of outlets and surrounding areas
  • Maintain the reception /lobby area to ensure it is always in immaculate condition.Performing other duties as assigned by Management

  • To be knowledgeable and promote local and special events
  • Take ownership for assignments issues or tasks and followthrough to an appropriate resolution
  • Ability to learn quickly and display a strong interest in gaining knowledge of Hirafu and the surrounding area
  • Able to record information accurately
  • Be immaculately presented
  • A valid Japan working holiday visa or working rights
  • Any IT videography photography skills or exposure are desirable

Requirements 1- 2 AT 5 6 Ability to speak English at a daily conversation level is a plus Ability to read and write Japanese at N1-N2 level Have a valid Japanese working holiday visa or work permit Regular driver's license to drive in Japan (AT limited is acceptable) Flexibility, reliability, and punctuality Physically fit Great interpersonal and teamwork skills Standard working days are 5 days per week, up to 6 days per week Polite and friendly attitude Prioritize cleanliness Staff accommodation available Language friendly environment Discounts on some resort services and winter activitiesUnique work environment Staff meals are provided during work hours
