Job Description
Project Estimator

About the Client:
The client is a contracting company that undertakes a broad range of civil/utilities throughout the Sydney area and surrounding areas. They also have a NonDestructive excavation service division which provides an immediate response to their clients needs while providing the most technically advanced equipment available.
We are looking for a diligent Estimator to prepare accurate estimates for projects by gathering information and analyzing important metrics. You will provide knowledge of costs and benefits that support profitable business decisions.
- Understand the project/program and its requirements.
- Determine key variables for cost and other estimates.
- Conduct regular risk assessments.
- Oversee the different stages of a company project to ensure that expenses follow the forecast plan.
- Interpreting drawings relevant specifications and reports.
- Preparing takeoffs itemizing sending to and liaising with suppliers and putting together a complete and compliant quote.
Requirements
- 5 years of experience as an Estimator or related role in an Australian company
- Experience in cost estimating and other software related to the field. (MS Excel Tender link Asana etc.)
- Strong Background in Excavation Projects such as roads car parks etc.
- Experience in interpreting and analyzing project specifications drawings and PPR.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as the ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to read and understand architectural and structural drawings.
- Experience working in the construction engineering or architectural industry is a plus.
- Knowledge of relevant building codes and regulations
