Lead Structural Design engineer is primarily concerned with designing and constructing buildings and structures that are safe and capable of withstanding the elements to which they will be exposed, as well as improving the structural integrity of existing buildings. Lead structural engineer is also responsible for team management, workload monitoring & managing resources.
Duties & Responsibilities, (include but not limited to):

Supervise & analyze configurations of the basic structural components of a building or other structure.

Supervise & calculate the pressures, stresses and strains that each component, such as a beam or column etc., will experience from other parts of the structure due to human use or environmental pressures such as weather or earthquakes.

Select appropriate construction materials, considering the strength of various materials, e.g. concrete, steel and brick, to see how their inclusion may necessitate a change of structural design.

Liaise with other designers, including architects, to agree on safe designs and their fit with the aesthetic concept of the construction.

Examine structures at risk of collapse and advising how to improve their structural integrity, such as recommending removal or repair of defective parts or rebuilding the entire structure.

Developing and directing project plans with the Engineering Project Manager (e.g. project budget, schedules, and change management requirements etc.)

Prepare, monitor, and update project plans, schedules, and budgets (including staffing needs) to project management and department management
.
Obtaining planning and/or building regulations approval.
.
Supervise preparing drawings, specifications and computer models of structures for buildings.
.
Apply expert knowledge of the forces that act on various structures.
.
Reviewing, monitoring and ensuring compliance requirements are met for design and (e.g. Standards, specification and local codes and regulations etc.)

Use computers and computer-aided design (CAD) technology & other related applications for simulation purposes.

Define scope of work, prepare estimate and schedule for structural engineering portion of work in a project.

Revise structural shop drawings & documents.
.
Manage structural team & their workload.
.
Provide advice to technical team as & when needed.
.
Provide the support and cooperation in regards to the Quality department requirements and Audits.
.
Provide the support and cooperation in regards to the Business development & tenders management activities when requested.
Full Time
