Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly organised and enthusiastic Awards & Events Project Manager to support our popular Best of Royal Greenwich Business Awards programme and ceremony responsible for leading and delivering from beginning to end of the project while working with both internal such as the council s Events Design Comms Sponsorship and Business teams alongside external stakeholders.
The Best of Royal Greenwich Business Awards are an annual celebration of businesses in the borough led by the Council and supported by The SouthEast London Chamber of Commerce and local sponsors.
Key Duties/Accountabilities:
Take ownership of the awards schedule including endtoend project planning and delivery
Create an awards tracker to share with the wider team.
Define clear roles and responsibilities for the internal teams and ensure they adhere to them
Organise key activities: launch call for submissions shortlisting judging sessions and the ceremony where the winners will be announced.
Management of judges: schedule judging sessions and set up.
Coordinate announcements with the Communications and Engagement Officer.
Build relationship and manage sponsors e.g. chasing guest table names and menu options from sponsors.
Manage relationship with InterContinental London The O2 hotel operations team where the ceremony will be held.
Lead and deliver the ceremony event end to end.
Manage event registrations (sponsors and guests) and attendees dietary requirements and support table planning.
Host and lead on weekly awards meetings with the team (marketing business support events).
Essential Experience Required:
Extensive experience of project managing large scale / high profile events is essential.
Experience working in exceptionally wellorganised manner is essential.
Experience of commissioning and managing a range of services in relation to the delivery of projects or initiatives is essential.
Experience of managing projects from inception to completion preferably in Regeneration / Employment and Skills is essential.
Experience dealing with knowledge of regeneration programmes such as High Streets for All etc is desirable.
Experience working with work with stakeholders from a range of organisations and at different seniorities within an organisation is essential.
Essential Qualification Required:
A good general standard of education written and good verbal skills is essential.
Additional information to note:
Working hours: 21 hours per week.
This requirement is for 6 months at 3 days per week.
