The Senior Accountant will be responsible for the preparation of monthly and yearly financial results. The role requires the candidate to lead a team on daytoday matters that arise whilst ensuring that deadlines are met in a timely manner. In this position the Candidate will need to prioritize workload have a handson flexible and independent work mentality. The Candidate will be working closely with the Senior Financial Controller whilst ensuring that an open line of communication is kept at all times. We are looking for someone who is proactive possesses great communication skills eager to learn and able to provide solutions.

Tasks

• Assisting with and reviewing accounting entries processed by the team
• Preparation of monthly/yearly accruals and prepayments
• Maintaining fixed asset register
• Preparation of VAT reports VAT reconciliations and submission of VAT returns (both locally and overseas)
• Liaising with VAT local and foreign consultants
• Preparation of compliance documents in relation to the fleet of vessels
• Assisting senior financial controller with the preparation of financial statements (both IFRS and GAPSME)
• Liaising with external auditors during year end and interim audits whilst ensuring that all deadlines are met
• Preparation of other reporting as required
• Leading a team

Requirements

• Fully qualified accountant with at least 5 years experience in an accounting environment
• Selfmotivated and able to work both independently and as part of a team
• Ability to manage a small accounting team
• Experience in the hotel industry will be considered an asset (not a must)
• Fluent in English (both orally and in writing)
• Experience in VAT reporting will be preferred
• Attention to detail and problemsolving skills
• Ability to work independently
• Knowledge of MS Office software
