This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced and motivated Permitting Specialistto join the Corios rapidly growing offshore wind business and support the transition to a low carbon sustainable global economy.

You will contribute to the offshore wind permitting team by developing and supporting the development of a robust Construction and Operations Plan (COP) and a successful environmental impact statement process under the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA). They will support all of the COP development in close coordination with the lead COP position. The Permitting Specialist will play a critical role in orchestrating the production review and finalization of the COP and all its associated pieces and then support the subsequent multiyear EIS process. These tasks will include the management of multiple consultants coordinating with state and federal agencies and assisting with securing any required authorizations.

Activities:

Provide environmental biological and ecological expertise to the development and permitting of offshore wind project activities onshore and offshore to support successful permitting of project design installation and operations that is protective of the environment

Coordinate with federal agencies (e.g. BOEM NOAA NMFS USFWS) and state agencies as well as key environmental interest groups and stakeholders

Manage consultants to ensure tasks are performed on time and to satisfaction

Review reports and COP sections for completeness and with a strategic eye to how the project is characterized

Review and support the appropriate federal agencies in the development and completion ofthe associated EIS

Be responsible for analyzing publicly available resource data and ensuring compliance withregulatory authority requirements guidelines and best practices for environmentalresearch monitoring and mitigation to support environmental impact statements

Evaluate and support survey and data collection technology innovations and other novelways to address spaceuse conflicts and represent company on working groups or industryto continually improve efforts to be protective of life and environment

Perform other tasks and takes on additional duties as reasonably assigned by supervisorproject manager and/or group unit

Travel across project and company offices and to meet with permitting stakeholders andother key interest groups

Accountabilities

Prepares Construction and Operations Plan and other permits in compliance with regulations and guidelines

Contributes towards tasks to ensure permit applications and permitting documents are completed on time

Qualifications / Experience required

3 years experience with offshore environmental and ecological programs which may include research and monitoring efforts survey campaigns and impact mitigation techniques

Undergraduate or graduate degree in Environmental Studies/Science/Policy ConservationBiology Sustainability Public Policy Political Science or a related field

Experience permitting projects in compliance with NEPA and related federal state and local environmental regulations

Knowledge of US regulations and policies (e.g. NEPA MMPA MBTA ESA MSFCMA) as well as a solid understanding of the concerns of key decisionmakers policymakers and state or federal authorities

Knowledge of clean energy issues ideally related to offshore wind

Outstanding written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to effectively communicate across multiple levels within a company and externally to diverse audiences and stakeholders

Excellent technical writing and communication skills including editing skills and ability to analyze and synthesize complex data and clearly communicate key information

Innovative proactive and responsible

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

Team player with ability to work collaboratively across complex project teams and interface between interdisciplinary departments

The salary range for this position is USD 135k to USD 155k based on experience.
