Job Description

We have an exciting job opportunity for a Senior Designer who has expertise in designing playgrounds and play areas for the new build housing sector and gives the opportunity to join on of the leading playground suppliers in the UK as they expand their inhouse design team and be a key part of some very exciting business growth plans. On offer is a salary of up to 36000 a performance based bonus scheme the opportunity for career progression to House Builder Design Team Leader and for split home / office working once fully trained and up to speed.

In the role of Senior Designer you will be leading a small design team responsible for creating playground and play area designs for the major UK House Builders.

Collaborating with the wider design team and working closely with the Head of Commercial you will gain a comprehensive understanding of their approach design expertise and product capabilities and be able to use this information and your skills and experience to be successful in this role and to open up the opportunity to progress to House Build Design Team Leader.

As the Senior Designer you will be responsible for:

  • Leading the Housebuilder design team.
  • Supporting coaching and developing your team to enhance businesswinning capabilities.
  • Ensuring quality control and consistency in team style and pricing.
  • Collaborating effectively with other departments and with clients.
  • Strategically planning team workload and managing volume and capacity efficiently.


Requirements

To be considered as the Senior Designers you will need the following:

  • Experience of liaising with both Area Sales and Pre Sales teams.
  • Strong knowledge and experience in site design zoning flow and value engineering.
  • Expertise in meeting the specific design requirements of Housebuilders.
  • Expertise in working from technical drawings with levels.
  • Ability to create safety compliant layouts with a sitespecific focus.
  • Experience in project pricing to budget.
  • Proficiency in tailoring design output to specific client and target audience.

As a person you will need:

  • A collaborative approach where you actively seek input from colleagues and 3rd parties.
  • The ability to present solutions and options to colleagues and teams.
  • To be focused on customer needs and outcomes.
  • To possess creative problem solving skills be inquisitive ask open questions and probe to understand context and background.
  • The ability to listen and seek feedback.
  • To actively motivate and support others both in your team and externally.
  • The ability to deliver feedback to others in a constructive and supportive way.
  • The ability to prioritise team workload and set realistic timelines for project tasks as well as the tasks that support the team.


Benefits

On offer for the successful Senior Designer is a salary of between 32000 and 36000 a year a performance based bonus scheme onsite parking the opportunity when up to speed for split office / home office working genuine career progression route to House Build Design Team Leader office working hours of 8.30am to 5pm Monday to Thursday and 8.30am to 4.30pm on a Friday and the standard holiday and pension schemes.
