About the role

This position offers opportunities for career development. Youll be a key part of improving our finance procedures assisting with important financial responsibilities and ensuring operations run smoothly.

Duties:

Supervise and lead a team of finance assistants in executing daily weekly and monthly financial operations.

Support the finance team with daily banking sales ledger purchase ledger and credit control.

Manage team performance absence recognition and wellbeing.

Deputise for the Head of Finance.

Prepare management accounts statistical analysis and reporting.

Reconcile control accounts and process monthly journals (including accruals and prepayments).

Prepare VAT and submit HMRC reports.

Generate financial reports for budget monitoring.

Conduct weekly and monthly bank reconciliations.

Assist in audit preparation and execution.

Manage the fixed asset register.

Develop and maintain finance department procedures.

Skills knowledge and experience:

Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or related field preferred.

Professional accounting qualification (e.g. CPA ACCA) or equivalent experience.

Proven experience in financial accounting and reporting.

Strong knowledge of accounting principles and regulations.

Experience managing and developing a team.

Experience working with auditors.

Honest discreet and committed to confidentiality.

Proficient in accounting software (e.g. Microsoft Dynamics Business Central or equivalent).

Good knowledge of MS Office/O365.

Excellent analytical and problemsolving skills.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team.

Detailoriented with a high level of accuracy.
