Fibre Splicer

Comex 2000 is currently seeking a committed and enthusiastic Fibre Splicer to join our Activations team in Livingston. If you are a hardworking committed individual who is eager learn then come and join the Comex2000 family!

What are we looking for

We are looking for an individual who is eager to show their splicing experience and play a key role with us testing on existing and newbuild networks in both an internal and external capacity.

What will you be doing

As a Fibre Splicer your core responsibilities will be:

Splicing

• Fusion Spicing Fujikura 70s or similar.
  
• Live network splicing.
  
• Hard splicing and patching.
  
• New Build (Building new splice points using various joint closures and Optical distribution frames).
  

Fibre Optic Testing

• OTDR /ILM/PMD/CD Using Exfo FTB 200 mainframes or similar.
  
• Produce fibre characterization reports.
  
• Be able to analyse the trace results to pinpoint any problems.
  
• Reporting.
  

Read and understand Visio straight line diagrams.

• Understand written work instructions on MS word.
  

Technical skills required:

• 2 year working experience with Fibre optics products.
  
• OTDR Experience EXFO CMA NETTEST ANRITSU NOYES or similar.
  
• Fusion splicing Fujikura 60s70s or similar.
  
• Worked on a live network for 2 years or more.
