Job description -

There's an exciting opportunity for a Chief Financial Officer to join a boutique real estate management company!

• The following are your responsibilities:
• Analyzes financial results in conjunction with forecasts by overseeing budgeting, accounting, and cash management.
• Prepares annual consolidated financial statements for the corporation
• Provides timely financial statements and reports on transactions and/or requests for information.
• Managing and monitoring cash flow and capital needs for real estate development.
• Managed the daily operations of the accounting staff.
• Closing of accounts receivable and payable, financial reports, payroll, invoicing, and cash receipts and disbursements at month-end and year-end.
• Assists in maintaining and negotiating company insurance and liability policies. Examines mortgages, loan documents, subordination agreements, and guarantee agreements. Financing, construction loan closings, contracts, and/or private debt are all part of this process.
• Prepares consolidated corporate audits and tax returns annually.

Requirements -

Bachelor's degree in accounting/finance or a related field

A master's degree is preferred, but not required

CPAs are preferred, but not required

You must be an expert in the YARDI software

Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)

Experience managing commercial properties (offices, retail stores, shopping centers, etc.) and some residential properties

An individual who isn't afraid to get their hands dirty

The client is based in Syracuse, New York, with additional operations in Charlotte, North Carolina and Salt Lake City, Utah areas. In-house capabilities include acquisitions, site selection, entitlements, feasibility, legal, leasing, financing, accounting, construction, property management, hotel management, and asset management.

Functions & responsibilities include (but are not limited to) preparing financial reports, analyzing financial information, and preparing general ledger reconciliations. Manage the daily activities of the accounting/finance department team with financial reporting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger and operating tasks.

Oversees the accounting department and supervises in accordance with the organizations policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
