Road Designers/ Highway Design Engineer

Job Description:

* Operating as a competent professional within a single area of work with little supervision
* Working under the direction of a supervisor on new or unusual areas of work
* Independently perform routine and some non-routine task
* Making technical decisions that are limited to solution rather than end results
* Working on detailed or routine engineering assignments involving calculations and relatively simple tasks. Prepare drawings, specifications, report and other document ensuring accuracy and compliance with Arcadis requirements and relevant national standards and codes of practice.
* Have advanced proficiency with relevant desktop applications including the ability to use a range of computer software as a tool for solving basic engineering problems and presenting results
* Possess excellent time management skills
* Have an awareness of sustainable development best practice

Qualifications:

* Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or equivalent and formally licensed to act as a professional engineer
* 3-10 years of relevant professional experience
* Strong road design experience using Australian codes and/or standards, e.g. AGRD; Experience in VIC Roads and RMS standards will be highly regarded
* Demonstrated experience in working independently with the ability to work in a complex, challenging environment.
* Proficiency in Design Software (e.g. Openroads, 12D and Civil 3D)
* Knowledge in AutoCAD or similar drafting/modelling software (e.g. MicroStation)
* Advantage in AUS experience for roads, experience in using open roads, civil 3D, road design, vertical and horizontal profile, engineer to senior
