QA Engineer VA

This is a remote position.

Practera is looking for an experienced QA Engineer to join our team. We are looking for someone who can test manually and use automated testing tools but can also understand and communicate how good systems should work. You will be expected to work with our engineering team under our QA Lead. You will also be required to provide support to clients and staff on troubleshooting issues with the systems and escalating any bugs to the engineering team.

We provide award-winning work integrated learning programs for thousands of university students in Australia and overseas, alongside a wide range of other experiential learning programs.

Our tech stack includes PHP, Angular, Ionic, Node.js, Python, GraphQL and PostgreSQL. Our Engineering team follows Agile development methodologies, and we encourage experimentation, a collaborative approach and incremental improvements. We encourage autonomy, trust the expert and value problem-solving skills.

Requirements

We expect experience with:

• At least 2 years of work experience in QA and testing including test automation
  
• Experience with a programming language such as JavaScript, C++, Python or Java
  
• An inquisitive, questioning mind and drive for learning
  
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to spot risk in products and processes
  
• Diligent and hard-working
  
• Good written and spoken communication skills
  
• Knowledge of testing methodologies including system, functional, regression and exploratory.
  

Nice to haves:

• Experience with Cypress for UI automation
  
• Experience with Javascript
  
• Automated API testing with Postman
  
• Experience with JIRA for raising and progressing epics, work tasks and defects
  
• Experience in security testing
  
• Experience in working with multinational distributed teams
  

Benefits

1. Monthly Salary: Php 50,000

2. Salary will be paid on a bi-monthly basis on the 1^st and 16^th of each month

3. You will be paid extra for overtime and Philippines public holidays

4. Probation: 6 months and after Probation

• 10 days annual of leave credits

5. Laptop provided after 30 days

6. Permanent work-from-home role. You will have to use your own internet.

7. Shift times: 7 AM 4 PM Philippine time, Monday to Friday
