Backend Engineering Manager

Location: Hyderabad Work Arrangement: Hybrid 3 days per week in the office

About the Role

Were looking for a Backend Engineering Manager to lead a team building scalable reliable and secure backend services. Youll bring together strong people leadership and hands-on technical insight working closely with Product and Architecture to deliver meaningful solutions. This role is a great fit for someone who enjoys coaching engineers shaping backend architecture and balancing technical depth with delivery and collaboration.

Your Role Responsibilities Heres What Youll Do.

• Lead a backend engineering team delivering high-quality services on time tracking delivery and quality metrics while proactively addressing risks and blockers.
• Partner with Product Owners and Architects to shape technical direction define user stories and drive impactful shared outcomes.
• Provide technical leadership across Java Spring Boot microservices and REST APIs guiding the team on backend design scalability performance and security best practices.
• Hire mentor and develop engineers supporting performance management and long-term career growth.
• Champion Agile ways of working and foster a culture of continuous improvement across the team.
• Serve as an escalation point and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth consistent execution.

Role Essentials

• Proven experience leading backend or platform engineering teams.
• Strong hands-on background in Java Spring/Spring Boot microservices and distributed systems.
• Deep proficiency in REST APIs and backend architecture design.
• Experience working in Agile environments with a solid understanding of CI/CD and modern DevOps practices.
• Demonstrated people-management and coaching skills with strong communication and collaboration abilities.
