Job Summary:
As a Supply Chain Management Engineer you will handle the complete purchasing processfrom understanding technical requirements to placing orders and ensuring timely delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review technical drawings and specifications from the engineering team
- Identify suitable suppliers and manufacturers
- Send inquiries (RFQs) and collect quotations from vendors
- Compare quotations and prepare reports
- Negotiate price delivery time and payment terms
- Coordinate with the project and engineering teams for order finalization
- Prepare and release purchase orders
- Follow up with suppliers for on-time delivery (OTD) and resolve quality issues
- Work with logistics and vendors to ensure on-time delivery
- Visit suppliers for development performance improvement and relationship building
- Identify and onboard new suppliers based on product requirements
- Ensure effective use of available inventory and avoid shortages/excess
- Maintain proper documentation and records of procurement activities
- Support cost optimization and continuous improvement initiatives
Skills Required:
- Experience in procurement of raw materials & Bought Outs
- Good communication and negotiation skills
- knowledge of procurement and supply chain processes
- Ability to work in a team and handle deadlines
- Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills
- SAP knowledge will be an added advantage
- Familiarity with MS Excel
- 2-4 years of experience in a similar domain
Qualification:
- Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering
