Job Description:

Job Summary:**

Hitachi Ltd. is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Supply Chain Procurement Manager to lead and optimize our procurement strategies. This role is crucial in ensuring the efficient and cost-effective acquisition of goods and services necessary for Hitachis global operations contributing to our overall business success and innovation.

Job Responsibilities:**

* Develop implement and manage comprehensive procurement strategies for various categories of goods and services aligning with Hitachis global supply chain objectives.
* Lead supplier selection negotiation and contract management processes ensuring favorable terms quality and delivery performance.
* Conduct market research and analysis to identify new suppliers technologies and cost-saving opportunities.
* Manage supplier relationships performance evaluations and continuous improvement initiatives.
* Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering manufacturing logistics and legal teams to understand procurement needs and ensure seamless integration of supply chain activities.
* Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies for supply chain disruptions and geopolitical factors.
* Monitor and analyze procurement metrics identifying trends and reporting on key performance indicators to senior management.
* Ensure compliance with all relevant company policies ethical standards and regulatory requirements.
* Drive continuous improvement in procurement processes leveraging digital tools and best practices.
* Lead and mentor a team of procurement professionals fostering a culture of excellence and innovation.

Job Qualifications:**

* Bachelors degree in Supply Chain Management Business Administration Engineering or a related field. Masters degree or professional certifications (e.g. CPSM C.P.M.) preferred.
* Minimum of 8-10 years of progressive experience in supply chain management and procurement with at least 3-5 years in a leadership or managerial role preferably within a large multinational corporation.
* Proven track record of successful negotiation contract management and supplier relationship management.
* Strong understanding of global supply chain dynamics logistics and international trade regulations.
* Demonstrated ability to develop and implement strategic procurement plans that deliver measurable results.
* Excellent analytical problem-solving and decision-making skills.
* Proficiency in procurement software and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems (e.g. SAP Ariba Oracle).
* Exceptional communication interpersonal and presentation skills with the ability to effectively engage with stakeholders at all levels.
* Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced dynamic environment.
* Fluency in English required; proficiency in Japanese or other relevant languages is a plus.
