Job Description:

Department Overview

Business Banking Information Services (BBIS) work in partnership with Business Stakeholders and Technology Partners to analyze develop and recommend solutions/changes in support of business strategies. We work with our partners to gather evidence to support business and/or technology audits. On a day to day basis we work behind the scenes to make sure our Business Partners day go smoothly by collaborating with Business and Technology Partners and Technology Groups to provide timely support and accurate resolution to questions and issues. BBIS are subject matter experts to cover over 40 systems including CreditLink Business BBHub Commercial World BBPro and a number of CMS applications such as TDBC and WBB.

We are looking for a Sr. Business Application Analyst to provide support of Business Banking applications including system components functionality interfaces data flows and business rules. The successful candidate will provide subject matter expertise on assigned Business Banking applications working independently as the senior lead as well as provide guidance to BBIS team members within area of expertise.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

CUSTOMER:

  • Responsible for intake of projects and major initiatives

  • Responsible for the documentation of all business owned artifacts that are required for projects and major initiatives as defined by the banks Project Delivery Life Cycle (PDLC) methodology

  • Responsible for business process documentation for all business applications owned/managed

  • Responsible for day-to-day operations process management to ensure consistency and delivery according to established SLA

  • Provide support on deployment and change management for initiatives relating to applications owned / managed

  • Review requirements specifications and technical design documents to provide timely and meaningful feedback

  • Provide feedback and thoughts on possible solutions to issues/risks arising throughout the life cycle of a project including adherence to enterprise application / data lifecycle practices

  • Identify and escalate risks that could impact project timelines or the quality of the deliverables to project manager and business owner provide options and recommendation

  • Act as an escalation point for application and operation issues both directly and through internal/external business partners (including external vendors)

  • Provide project management support to various extents

  • Support assigned projects as business owner delegate including providing recommendations to support transition of project related activities to BAU support; providing input on business requirements; reviewing testing artifacts; developing business standard operating procedures

  • Manage communication of defects enhancements and incidents

  • Complete day-to-day activities for application support and administrative maintenance of select Business Banking applications

SHAREHOLDER:

  • Act as a decision maker on projectsresponsible for getting input from the appropriate SMEs to make decisions

  • Accountable for adhering to the EPMO project management methodology

  • Ensure adherence to the Data Governance Framework

  • Ensure adherence to guidelines and regulatory requirements under Privacy Legal Compliance and the Office of the Chief Data Officer

  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships within the team and with key stakeholders

  • Continuously enhance knowledge/expertise in own area and keep current with leading-edge technologies trends/developments

  • Continuously enhance knowledge of business domains and their products/services

  • Support the development of business cases including benefits identification

  • Support and/or implement solutions that mitigate risk and maximizes the availability of service efficiency and effectiveness

BREADTH & DEPTH:

  • Expert level professional role requiring in-depth knowledge / expertise in own domain / field of specialty and working knowledge of broader related areas

  • Integrates the broader organizational context into advice and solutions within own area

  • Subject matter expert within their own area of specialty or a resource for others

  • Expert knowledge of applications supported by the team including system components functionality interfaces data flows and business rules.

  • Expert knowledge of banks PDLC methodology business testing and project management

  • Expert knowledge and an understanding of business supported and broader organization

  • Expert analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to solve complex problems requiring analysis to solve complex problems requiring analysis of multiple variables including consultation with multiple stakeholder and high degree of attention to detail

  • Uses advanced methods to contribute to new solutions and recommend standards against which others will operate

  • Leads projects of moderately to complex risks and resource requirements; may lead end to-end processes of functional programs

  • Coordinates and prioritizes multiple initiatives

  • Subject matter expert and consults with clients and/or project teams and may be involved in assessments of potential projects

  • Works independently as the senior lead and guides other within area of expertise

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and comfortable working with both Business and Technical teams

EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION:

  • Undergraduate Degree or Technical Certificate

  • 5-7 years of experience in the financial industry

  • 3 years of working experience in JIRA and Confluence
