The Production Manager sets the direction and oversees all activities related to plant production (from strategy development through to implementation execution and evaluation) while driving alignment with the corporate strategic direction and established systems and directives. Delivering on a broad range of responsibilities the Production Manager must balance an ability to draw on well-established general management capabilities with a willingness to get directly involved in the operations (applying specialty/technical skills) as required. Supports the Plant Manager in communications with the local community regulatory bodies suppliers customers and contractors. Develops SOPs and ensures department compliance to both regulatory and company training Role: Identify and report efficiency opportunities (i.e. production cost) and/or implement appropriate solutions to optimize local plant (or actively support) critical decisions that impact the local site (i.e. capital projects team performance production maintenance planning costing/budgeting etc.)Monitor relevant regulations to ensure compliance in areas such as ethical practices employee and process safety contractor safety environment and implementation of key people initiatives (i.e. training talent development skills planning organization design hiring/on-boarding succession management etc.)Review process measures on a regular basis in order ensure production raw material usages and quality expectations are being Person: Bachelors Degree in Engineering (Chemical Mechanical Pulp and Paper) is preferred.6 - 10 years of experience in Plant Operations and Management Budgeting/Cost Management Safety and Environmental Leadership Community Outreach Dealing with Governmental Regulators Customer track record of 5 years plant operations experience in a leadership role in the pulp chemicals arena coupled with team leadership experience.
