We are currently seeking: Journeyman Boom Truck operators for work in Edmonton.
Responsibilities:
- Determine the appropriate crane setup rigging and lift points utilizing the information available (load weights crane charts rigging tags and distances etc.
- Coordinate and plan lifts and jobs with Encore Journeyman Boom Truck Operators record all lift plans on the back of the FLHA form.
- Complete all required electronic and hardcopy paperwork and submit it in a timely manner (BOLs Drivers logs Pre/post trips & FLHAs trailer load paperwork crane logs etc.
- Direct assigned signallers following verification of rigging and signally competency.
- Complete unit familiarization training procedure and paperwork on all new and unfamiliar equipment.
- Review and adhere to Encores lifting procedures.
- Complete monthly maintenance and inspection on assigned truck(s) and crane(s).
- Adhere to an on-call rotation schedule.
- Maintain equipment cleanliness and stock of supplies when completing a post trip walk around.
- Provide mentorship and training to Apprentices Swamper/Riggers and new employees.
- Follow customer and site specific procedures and policies.
- Communicate with Dispatchers on job progress updates and changes through out the day.
- Consult with Dispatch on all difficult lifts or significant job scope changes.
Job Requirements
- Journeyman Boom Truck Certificate (Alberta or equivalent)
- Class 1 drivers license with airbrake endorsement
- 5 year clean driving abstract
Skills/Qualifications:
- High safety awareness
- Basic mechanical skills
- Able to repeatedly lift 50lbs during the course of a working day
- Works well independently and when required in a team atmosphere
- Effective time management and organizational skills and able to meet deadlines
- Good co-ordination manual dexterity and vision
- Excellent inter-personal and communication skills
- Comfortable to work at heights
