Offset Press Operator Lithographic Printing
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced First Press Operator to join our manufacturing this role you will be responsible for operating and maintaining a Heidelberg XL 75 lithographic printing press ensuring high-quality print production while meeting production schedules and quality standards.
The ideal candidate has experience in commercial printing strong attention to detail and takes pride in producing high-quality work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Operate and maintain a Heidelberg XL 75 lithographic printing press.
- Set up press jobs according to production specifications.
- Monitor print quality color consistency registration and ink/water balance throughout production runs.
- Perform quality inspections and make adjustments to maintain production standards.
- Lead and provide direction to the Second Press Operator during production.
- Complete production documentation and maintain accurate job records.
- Perform minor machine maintenance and troubleshooting to minimize downtime.
- Mix inks and perform color matching including Pantone color matching when required.
- Monitor inventory levels of inks and press supplies and assist with ordering materials.
- Maintain a clean organized and safe work environment.
- Communicate production updates during shift handovers.
- Follow all company health and safety policies and manufacturing procedures.
- 3-5 years of experience operating lithographic printing presses.
- Experience operating Heidelberg XL 75 or similar offset printing equipment is strongly preferred.
- Strong understanding of offset printing processes color management and print quality standards.
- Experience with ink mixing and Pantone color matching is an asset.
- Ability to read and interpret production specifications and work orders.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to perform minor equipment maintenance.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- High School Diploma or equivalent is preferred.
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Frequently lift up to 50 lbs.
