Reporting to the Manager Career Education and Professional Experience the Experiential Education Program Advisor provides subject matter expertise to facilitate the creation of professional development curriculum. This role advises students and employers during their internship or work term to resolve complex issues and ensure a successful collaboration with program partners the Program Advisor will research plan and lead the delivery of high quality internship and experiential education modules providing outstanding work integrated learning and professional experience education to students through the Engineering Career Accelerator Program. Training modules and resources will be delivered both in person and online.
The incumbent will be an organized individual with experience in planning and coordinating a unit-wide experiential learning program and designing professional development curriculum. Leading the development and integration of instructional materials into engineering curriculum the Program Advisor will be skilled in considering learning outcomes student needs stakeholder considerations and unit goals. This role will require a strength in developing and cultivating rapport to build and foster trust credibility and strategic relationships. Experience in monitoring and tracking tasks to ensure program objectives and deadlines are met is key to this role.
The Experiential Education Program Advisor will collaborate closely with the Corporate Relations Career Education and Employer Support teams and on-campus partners including the Queens Engineering Teaching and Learning Team the Queens Undergraduate Internship Program (QUIP) and the Smith School of Business.
This position supports students while they are completing their internships and provides support regarding work integrated learning content. This position provides advice to support smooth transitions between work and academic terms as well as through any difficult employment issues. This position oversees projects and provides subject matter expertise for experiential learning programs and curriculum updates. Required Education
