About the Role

The Vineyard Operator plays a crucial role in the day-to-day vineyard operations at our vineyard site in Strathbogie assisting with machinery operation and hands-on responsibilities include:

- Executing a range of tasks including spraying pruning vine training trellis and irrigation repairs and general vineyard maintenance.

- Operating machinery and equipment to a high standard and ensuring proper maintenance.

- Monitoring pests and diseases assisting with frost protection bird control and crop estimation.

- Undertaking roles during harvest which may include night and weekend work.

- Adhering to safety standards participating in safety activities and promoting a safe work environment.

Key Criteria

To be considered for this casual position applicants must:

- A minimum 1 year of relevant experience in vineyard agriculture or horticulture operations is preferred but not essential.

- Tertiary education or qualifications in agriculture viticulture horticulture or a related field will be highly regarded.

- Demonstrate a strong understanding of viticultural principles and practices with the ability to operate machinery and equipment effectively.

- Exhibit flexibility strong communication skills reliability and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

- Hold a valid car license.

- Possessing a forklift license chemical handling and first-aid accreditation would be advantageous.
