Combo/Jet Truck Operator / Supervisor
Melbourne Water Contract
We are seeking an experienced Combo Truck Operator to join our growing team and take ownership of a brand-new Cappellotto Combo Truck servicing the Melbourne Water contract.
This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and safety-focused operator who enjoys working autonomously while maintaining high standards of customer service compliance and operational excellence.
About the Role
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and facilitating a range of maintenance and cleaning works across the Melbourne Water network including:
Conduit and drainage cleaning
Non-Destructive Digging (NDD)
Vacuum excavation works
Wet well cleaning
Waste collection transportation and disposal activities
Operation of a brand-new Cappellotto Combination Truck
In addition to operating the equipment you will play a key role in planning and coordinating day-to-day activities to ensure works are delivered safely efficiently and to Programmeds expectations.
Key Responsibilities
Safely operate and maintain the Combo Truck across various Melbourne Water assets
Plan schedule and coordinate works to meet contract requirements
Ensure customer expectations and service levels are consistently achieved
Manage vehicle maintenance servicing requirements and equipment inspections
Maintain accurate operational and compliance records
Uphold the highest standards of Health Safety Environment and Quality (HSEQ)
Ensure all waste handling transportation and disposal activities comply with relevant regulations and contract requirements
Identify opportunities for continuous improvement within operations
Mentor train and support developing operators and crew members
About You
To be successful in this role you will possess:
Demonstrated experience operating Combination Vacuum/Jetting Trucks
Experience in conduit cleaning NDD vacuum excavation and wet well cleaning
Strong understanding of Melbourne Water or similar utility network operations
Excellent planning scheduling and organisational skills
Strong commitment to safety environmental compliance and quality standards
Ability to work independently and take ownership of work programs
Experience mentoring and developing team members
Effective communication and customer relationship skills

Training/Experience Requirements (preferred not essential)
Cert 4 in front-line management
HR licence preferred
White Card (Construction Induction) essential
Confined Space Entry ticket highly regarded
Understanding of water sewer and drainage systems
Strong safety mindset and attention to detail
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
