Were looking for a seasoned Senior Director Compliance Programs to join our Compliance leadership team and drive the ongoing maturity of Optus compliance management framework across the entire organisation.

Reporting directly to the Chief Compliance Officer this is a high-impact leadership role for someone who thrives at the intersection of regulatory rigour and commercial pragmatism.

What Youll Do

  • Leading a small team to systematically supervise Optus sophisticated regulatory landscape ensuring all obligations are identified assessed for business unit applicability and that first-line ownership is clearly established and accepted
  • Building and maintaining strong cross-functional relationships across Optus business units to embed compliance obligation ownership and ensure the Controls Framework is consistently implemented
  • Driving continuous improvement across compliance frameworks processes and ways of working finding opportunities to uplift capability and reduce risk
  • Partnering with senior collaborators across Regulatory Risk and Internal Audit to avoid redundancy of effort and support the delivery of the Uplift program related to Compliance at Optus

What You Bring

  • Validated experience in hazard assessment and governance measures within a highly regulated industry including significant expertise in managing obligations under the Competition and Consumer Act
  • Proven experience implementing governance frameworks addressing risk control and regulatory requirements aligned to ISO 31000 ISO 19600 and similar standards. Has a track record of establishing Line 1 capability.
  • A graduate degree or equivalent experience in Commerce Economics Finance Law or a related subject area ideally complemented by a qualification in Risk and/or Compliance
  • Outstanding collaborator management influencing and communication skills with the ability to engage at all levels of an organisation and translate sophisticated compliance requirements into commercially viable pragmatic advice
