Job Summary

Tonitto Cakes is seeking an experienced Pastry Chef to join our team in Shellharbour NSW. We are looking for someone passionate reliable and skilled in preparing high-quality cakes pastries desserts and baked products.

Key Duties

The successful applicant will be responsible for:

  • Preparing baking and decorating cakes pastries desserts and other bakery products
  • Measuring and mixing ingredients according to recipes and production requirements
  • Preparing fillings creams icings glazes and decorations
  • Ensuring all products are prepared to a high standard of quality taste and presentation
  • Operating bakery and pastry equipment safely and efficiently
  • Monitoring baking times temperatures and product consistency
  • Maintaining a clean and hygienic work area in line with food safety standards
  • Assisting with stock control ordering and minimising wastage
  • Supporting menu development and seasonal product ideas
  • Working closely with the team to meet daily production requirements


Requirements


  • Relevant qualification in Commercial Cookery Patisserie Baking or similar
  • At least 2 years of relevant experience as a Pastry Chef or similar role
  • Strong knowledge of cake pastry and dessert preparation
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Good attention to detail and presentation skills
  • Understanding of food safety and hygiene practices
  • Ability to work early mornings weekends and busy periods when required

  • Required Skills:

    AQF Certificate III in Baking or equivalent qualification OR minimum 35 years relevant commercial baking experience At least 2 years post-qualification or equivalent industry experience Proven experience in artisan and commercial bread production Strong understanding of dough fermentation baking processes and quality control Ability to work early mornings weekends and under pressure Reliable punctual and able to work independently and as part of a team.
