Gumnut Bakery is seeking an experienced Pastry Chef to join our team across our bakery locations in Mittagong Bowral and Berrima. We are looking for someone passionate about producing high-quality pastries cakes desserts and baked goods in a busy bakery environment.
Key Duties
Prepare bake and decorate pastries cakes desserts and other baked products
Measure mix and prepare ingredients according to recipes and production requirements
Prepare fillings creams icings glazes and decorations
Monitor baking times temperatures and product consistency
Ensure all products meet quality taste and presentation standards
Operate bakery and pastry equipment safely and efficiently
Maintain cleanliness hygiene and food safety standards
Assist with stock control ordering and minimising wastage
Support the development of new and seasonal pastry products
Work with the team to meet daily production targets
Requirements
Relevant qualification in Patisserie Baking Commercial Cookery or similar
At least 2 years of relevant experience as a Pastry Chef or similar role
Strong knowledge of pastry cake and dessert preparation
Good attention to detail and presentation skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Understanding of food safety and hygiene practices
Availability to work early mornings weekends and busy periods as required
