About this role
Grant Thornton Australia is looking for aManager/Senior Manager Data Analyticsto join ourgrowingFinancial Advisoryanalyticsteam inSydney.
Youllwork with internal stakeholders(partnersdealteamsand other service lines) and external clientsto translate business problems into actionable data/AI projects deliver highquality solutions and help shape our analytics footprint inSydney.
This role suits an intellectually curious individual with adata-driven andsolution orientedmindset: someone with strong critical thinking skills who understands the power of asking the right questions and can tailor their message to resonate with different audiences.
The role may be appointed at Manager or Senior Manager level depending on experience
Key responsibilities
- Support the growth of the Sydney analytics capability through strong stakeholder relationships high-qualitydeliveryand reusable solutions
- Shape analytics opportunities from ambiguous business problems structuring work into practical high-impact deliverables for clients and internal teams
- Identifydata sources gather relevant information and performETL
- Conduct exploratory data analysisto uncover patterns trends and anomalies that informdecisionmaking
- Develop andmaintaindata models dashboards andreports using tools such as Power BI SQL Python Databricksand Alteryx
- Lead Agile delivery cadences(backlog sprint planningstandups reviews) and manage work in Azure DevOps including code reviews and QA checks
- Provideactionable insights and recommendations based on data findings and present clear narratives for both technical andnontechnicalaudiences
- Mentor and coach junioranalystsfostering a culture of qualityreuseand continuous improvement
Skillsandexperience
Required
- Significant experienceas a Data AnalystorAnalytics Consultant preferably in a professional services environment with comfort serving both internal stakeholders and external clients
- Strong technical skills in SQL and Python with experience across Databricks/Sparkand Power BI; familiarity with Alteryx(or similar) is a plus
- Demonstrated delivery leadership using Agileways of working and Azure DevOps
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across diverse teams adapting communication for technical andnontechnicalstakeholders
- Proven ability to lead projects and mentor team members setting clearstandards and uplifting capability
Desirable
- Experience in transactions financial advisory or other project-based professional services environments
- Exposure to data product thinking reusable analytics assets or scalable solution design
- Experience delivering advanced AI solutions including agentic workflows orchestration and enterprise-grade implementation
