The Role

This is a senior individual contributor opportunity for a seasoned product designer who is ready to help define what AI-powered product experiences look like at scale. Youll be embedded in a dedicated product area focused on AI spanning agents content design systems and AI tooling and workflows working closely with Product and Engineering on some of the most complex and consequential design challenges in the business.

This is not a people manager role but it is a leadership role. Youll be the design voice on AI experience helping to establish patterns principles and ways of working that will shape how the wider team approaches AI product design. What Youll Do

AI Experience Design

• Lead the design of AI-powered product experiences including agentic workflows AI-generated content and intelligent tooling from early concept through to polished shipped product
• Help define and evolve design patterns for AI interactions: how users understand trust and direct AI agents; how content surfaces and adapts; how errors and edge cases are handled with care
• Contribute to and influence the design system as it evolves to support AI-era components patterns and guidance
• Champion human-centred design in the context of AI advocating for clarity control and appropriate trust in AI-assisted experiences
• Work with AI tooling and build it into your design workflow using AI to accelerate ideation prototyping and exploration without compromising craft

Design Practice & Craft

• Work with design leadership to shape the product design vision and ensure consistency and quality of execution within your product area
• Own end to end design across complex systemic initiatives from problem framing through to detailed interaction design and delivery
• Create wireframes prototypes visual layouts and detailed interaction specifications that balance user needs business strategy and technical constraints
• Design for accessibility from the ground up not as an afterthought
• Collaborate closely with other designers across the team contributing to critique and shared ways of working

Research & Insight

• Identify research opportunities and partner with researchers to plan and conduct user research and usability testing including evaluative research specific to AI experiences (trust comprehension control)
• Synthesise customer insights and data to make evidence-based design decisions and inform product direction
• Contribute to a deep understanding of customer needs pain points and behaviours within your product area

Cross-functional Collaboration

• Build strong working relationships with Product Managers Engineering Leads and AI/ML teams influencing prioritisation and roadmap decisions
• Facilitate cross-functional workshops to align teams around key decisions at the right moments in the process
• Collaborate with developers during sprints for design QA and hands on problem solving as issues arise

Leadership & Mentorship

• Mentor and coach designers in your team through critique feedback and knowledge sharing including helping others build confidence and fluency in designing for AI
• Help define and improve design processes that can be implemented across the wider team
• Partner with Leads Principals and Design Leadership to continuously improve how the design function operates

What Youll Bring

• A strong portfolio demonstrating high-quality product design work with clear evidence of impact on both user experience and business outcomes. A portfolio is required to be considered for this role.
• Hands on experience across the full design process from discovery and problem framing through to detailed interaction design and delivery
• Proven experience tackling large complex and systemic design challenges ideally including 0-to-1 product development
• Experience designing for or with AI: agentic systems AI-generated content intelligent workflows or similar
• Comfort working in enterprise-scale product environments where design decisions affect hundreds of thousands of users
• A deep understanding of user-centred design principles and genuine craft across interaction UI and visual design
• Confidence presenting and defending design decisions to product engineering and senior stakeholders
• A track record of mentoring or coaching other designers and contributing to team culture
• Experience working in a fast paced agile product environment. SaaS experience is a plus.
• Strong understanding of accessibility standards and inclusive design practices
