Supporting our operations is a national fleet of more than 150 vehicles and mobile assets operating across Queensland New South Wales Victoria & South Australia. Were seeking an experienced Group Fleet Controller to take ownership of this critical function and ensure our fleet continues to operate safely efficiently and cost-effectively.
About the Role
Reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer the Group Fleet Controller is responsible for the day-to-day management of Buildsafes national fleet portfolio. This role is positioned on the Gold Coast working from our Head Office in oversee a diverse fleet operating across multiple states working closely with Branch Managers Regional Operations Managers and external service providers to maximise fleet performance compliance utilisation and cost is a hands-on role that combines fleet management supplier relationships asset utilisation compliance procurement and continuous improvement. Youll play a key role in ensuring our operational teams have the vehicles and resources they need to deliver exceptional service to our customers every day.
Key Responsibilities
Coordinate fleet servicing maintenance and repairs
Manage registrations insurance toll accounts and compliance requirements
Oversee accident management and insurance claims
Monitor fuel usage maintenance costs and fleet performance
Build strong relationships with suppliers and service providers
Drive fleet utilisation cost control and operational efficiencies
Lead strategic capital expenditure (capex) planning for fleet acquisition and replacement
Conduct whole-of-life cost (WOLC) reviews and analysis
Maintain accurate fleet records and reporting
Provide fleet-related advice and support to operational leaders
About You
Previous experience in Fleet Management or a similar role
High level of mechanical aptitude
Strong commercial and problem-solving skills
Highly organised with strong attention to detail
Comfortable working across multiple locations and priorities
Experience managing suppliers contracts and fleet-related compliance
