Job Summary
Bakers Delight Mernda Town Centre is seeking an experienced Baker to join our team. The successful applicant will be responsible for preparing producing baking and finishing a range of bread rolls pastries and other flour-based products in line with recipes production schedules and quality standards.
Key Duties
- Prepare and produce bread rolls pastries and related flour-based products.
- Measure mix knead shape mould cut and prove doughs.
- Operate commercial bakery equipment including mixers ovens proofers and moulders.
- Monitor baking times temperatures product quality colour texture and consistency.
- Check raw ingredients and finished products to ensure quality and freshness.
- Maintain a clean safe and hygienic work area in line with food safety standards.
- Store ingredients and finished products correctly to minimise wastage.
- Assist with daily production planning stock rotation and inventory control.
- Support and guide junior staff where required.
Requirements
- Minimum 23 years of experience in a commercial bakery environment.
- Relevant qualification in baking or equivalent practical experience.
- Strong knowledge of dough preparation fermentation proving shaping and baking.
- Ability to follow recipes production schedules and workplace procedures.
- Good understanding of food safety and workplace health and safety requirements.

Required Skills:
AQF Certificate III in Baking or equivalent qualification OR minimum 35 years relevant commercial baking experience At least 2 years post-qualification or equivalent industry experience Proven experience in artisan and commercial bread production Strong understanding of dough fermentation baking processes and quality control Ability to work early mornings weekends and under pressure Reliable punctual and able to work independently and as part of a team.
