Our Team & Opportunity

Vanguards Data Transmission Services (DTS) team designs builds andoperatessecure resilient and scalable integration solutions that enable data exchange between Vanguard and external partners. As Vanguard continues its cloud and modernization journey DTS is evolving from traditional managed file transfer (MFT) solutions toward cloud-native integration platforms built on AWS.

We are seeking an engineer who is passionate about building and modernizing integration solutions automating workflows and developing reliable services that support critical business processes. This role is ideal for someone with a developer mindset strong AWS experience and an interest in solving complex data movement challenges through code and cloud-native services.

CoreResponsibilities

• Design build and support cloud-based integration and data transmission solutions using AWS services and modern development practices.

• Provide intermediate-level Data Transmission Services (DTS) including the setup support monitoring and troubleshooting of external data transmissions for business clients. Configure new transmissions andmodifyexisting ones using multiple protocols and file-handling mechanisms.

• Diagnose debug and resolve transmission issues and incidents ensuringtimelyrestoration of service in line with established service levelobjectives. Escalate and review complex technical issues with Senior Engineers and Leadership as.

• Develop andmaintainautomation tooling and services that enable secure and reliable data exchange with external partners.

• Modernize legacy MFT and batch-based integrations toward API-driven event-based and serverless patterns whereappropriate.

• Collaborate with internal application teams security networkingbusinessand external partners to designoptimalintegration architectures.

• Support production data transmission environments including participation in anoncallsupport rotation tomaintainthe availability and stability of critical transmission services and supporting platforms.

• Adhere to established DTS policies standards and operating procedures and contribute to the creation review and enhancement of documentation and runbooks where gaps areidentified.

• Ensure solutions meet Vanguard security risk and compliance requirements including encryption authentication logging and monitoring.

• Activelyparticipatein modernization initiatives and proof-of-concepts aligned to VanguardsTechnologystrategy.

Experiencerequired

• Experience modernizing legacy MFT or batch-based integrations to cloud-native architectures.

• Familiarity with Axway B2Bi SterlingConnect:DirectAWS Transfer Familyor similar platforms in hybrid orcloud platforms.

• Foundational understanding of ITIL Framework and familiarity with Service-Now or similar platforms.

• Experience building or consuming REST APIs and event-driven integrations.

• Familiarity with DevOps practices CI/CD pipelines and automated testing.

• Experience working in regulated or security-sensitive environments (financial services a plus).

• Exposure to observability tools (logging tracing metrics) in cloud environments.
