Whats the role
The Financial Crime Intelligence (FCI) team is part of Westpacs Risk Division. FCI at Westpac is responsible for helping the bank identify assess and respond to threats such as money laundering terrorism financing and other illicit activity. Its role is to collaborate with regulators and industry partners (e.g. AUSTRAC Fintel Alliance) to support publicprivate initiatives generate actionable intelligence for risk decisions and strengthen monitoring and detection controls.
As a Data Analytics Manager within FCI you will apply advanced data analytical and reporting capabilities to identify patterns anomalies and emerging financial crime threats across the Westpac Group. You will extract validate transform and analyse data from multiple sources to produce intelligence-led insights identify typologies and support strategic and operational responses to financial crime risk.
You will also develop and improve analytics techniques dashboards and data products that strengthen FCIs monitoring capability and provide clear decision-useful insights to support risk management and intelligence priorities.
What do I need
- Strong experience in data analytics intelligence analysis or data science.
- Advanced capability in SQL and Python (essential) or SAS (desirable) for data extraction transformation and analysis.
- Experience working with large complex datasets and analytical tools
- Proficient in MS Office and data visualisation tools (incl. AI-enabled capabilities)
- Ability to deliver dashboards insights and analysis to support decision-making and risk outcomes
- Must be an Australian citizen and willing to obtain Baseline security clearance due to the nature of the role
