The Dance Company

The Dance Company is a co-curricular dance program catering to all ages and abilities from beginners to the elite developing a diverse range of dance skills and techniques for performance.

The Dance Company offers dance tuition that encourages young people to be creative risk takers motivated and challenged in a supportive environment. Our Dance Company is a platform for social and emotional growth as we aim for students to develop self-expression confidence and a sense of belonging. At the end of each semester the Dance Company presents a concert to showcase class routines.

The Role

Position: Dance Coach/Teacher

Reports to: Coordinator of Dance Company

Type: Casual

Start Date: To commence in 2026

Dance Styles: Jazz Hip Hop Ballet Contemporary Lyrical

Duties

1. Dance Coach Program and Practice

Plan implement and evaluate dance training and conditioning appropriate to age and skill level.

Adhere to Safe Dance Practice.

Selection of appropriate choreography repertoire and music for each class.

Assist in costume selection or design for each class.

Maintain accurate records of student attendance at all rehearsals and events via clipboard.

Assist in the development and implementation of the Dance Companys program for skill development and progression.

Assist with and attend performance events.

2. Childrens Health and Safety

Consult with the Coordinator of Dance Company regarding the physical social emotional and intellectual needs of each child.

Inform and consult with the Coordinator any concerns regarding the welfare and wellbeing of children in their care.

3. Qualifications and Relevant Experience

First Aid

Dance styles: Jazz Hip Hop Ballet Contemporary Lyrical

Kindergarten (5 years old) to Year 6 (12 years old)

Applicants are required to hold an ACT Working with Vulnerable People (WWVP) check and a National Police Check. Both of which must be provided prior to commencement.
