Whats the role

Reporting to the Director Merchant Pricing and Analytics you will be responsible for providing pricing and analytical support to the Merchant Pricing team. You will primarily be managing the merchant pricing queues and process improvements execution on pricing strategies/projects and the closure of risk items.

In this role responsibilities include executing periodic Interchange and Scheme updates and delivering data extraction analysis and reporting to support business objectives. The position contributes to developing and optimising product and portfolio pricing strategies balancing customer value market competitiveness and financial outcomes. It also involves enhancing pricing models and processes managing risks issues and dependencies and partnering with internal and external stakeholders to improve customer outcomes and pricing strategies.

What do I need

  • Strong willingness to learn the merchant ecosystem payment trends banking operations across branch operations and product with exposure to pricing and decisioning frameworks
  • Well-developed problem-solving skills with a desire to build technical capability across Excel SQL and internal systems
  • Ability to understand document and re-engineer business processes to lower business risks
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently applying discretion in determining pricing rates and decisioning with bankers
  • Effective stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills partnering with branch operations and product teams
  • Strong governance mindset with a focus on best practice including delegated authority and appropriate use of discretion on pricing
