Our Client is an internationally accredited multidisciplinary and tertiary care private hospital located in the Klang Valley Region. It was recognized in 2021 for its excellence as imperatives in the digital health industry. As part of their growth plans they are seeking to hire a dedicated and experienced Endoscopy Manager to be part of their team.

Responsibilities:

Policies and Procedures

  • Assist in establishing implementing and administering Unit Policies and Procedures.
  • Ensure established Unit Policies and Procedures Objectives Quality Assurance programs safety environmental and infection control standards are adhered to.
  • Interpret Unit Policies and Procedures to all new staff.

Operational Issues

  • Maintain harmonious working relationships both within the unit with Medical Staff and Ancillary department within the hospital in coordinating customers total needs.
  • Direct activities of the assigned area and ensure high quality patient care is maintained.
  • Provide direct patient care evaluate outcomes and consult attending Physician Gastroenterologist or Surgeon as and when required.
  • Monitor medical condition of patients and reports changes to the respective Medical Staff.
  • Prepare and assist Gastroenterologist or Physicians with procedures.
  • Perform and ensure staff nurses are competent in IV cannulation and venipuncture.
  • Assist Medical Staff patients and their families as and when needed in times of stress or crisis.
  • Provide professional nursing care and advice patients (and their relatives) in techniques and methods of home care after discharge.
  • Answer enquiries telephone consultations and direct customers to the respective Medical Staff as requested.
  • Ensure Infection Control Policy is adhered to by having a monthly Infection Control unit meeting.
  • Liaise with other departments to handle emergencies such as Code Blue Code White and Code Yellow.
Training
  • Provide orientation and training for all new staff to job requirements equipment maintenance and unit personnel.
  • Participate in the clinical training programs for students from the Academy of Nursing and Health Sciences.
  • Motivate personnel of the unit so as to maximize their job satisfaction and personal growth for job retention.

Customer Service

  • Empower staff to achieve excellent customer service by adhering to core values and professional standards.
  • Timely handling of all customers complaints investigates takes action and followup to ensure that complaints have been handled in a satisfactory manner.

Inventory Control

  • Ensure established inventory standards for medicines solutions and supplies are maintained and all usage accurately captured in HMIS system.
  • Ensure established inventory of CSSD/ MSSU par level and weekly pharmacy floor stock are being carried out in the MCC system.

General Maintenance

  • Ensure proper functioning of all equipment and coordinates with BioMedical personnel and vendors technical support personnel in the management of the equipment.
  • Ensure maintenances of the endoscopic equipment in its functional condition inclusive of cleaning proper storage and sterilization where required.
  • Ensure unit facilities equipment supplies and materials are maintained and kept in an optimal condition.

Administrative

  • Develop yearly Department Goals and Objectives in line with key business objectives of the hospital.
  • Prepare capital equipment budget evaluates equipment and is responsible for the preparation and submission of Capital Expenditure Request (CER) for approval.
  • Prepare monthly unit reports as well as review and monitor operating budget to ensure the department is managed in a cost effective way.
  • Maintain required unit records reports and statistics for administrative purposes and budget preparation.
  • Prepare written documentation and report as required by the profession and the department.
  • Organize duty roster in the MyHR and adjust staffing to ensure adequate coverage for the unit.
  • Prepares work schedules assigns personnel evaluates work performance and makes recommendations for personnel action.
  • Accountable for discretionary use of overtime.
  • Participate in interviewing prospective employees and submits the recommendations for hiring.
  • Compile and submit weekly staff worked hours per patient day (WHPPD) to Nursing Administration to ensure efficient management of manpower in the unit.
  • Conduct evaluation of work performance and counseling of unit staff to promote selfimprovement.
  • Responsible for staff welfare and act as a counselor for staff problems.
  • Attend all Management Department meeting and participate in various committees and task force meetings.
  • Conduct unit meetings to allow dissemination of information and provide a platform for discussion and input from staff.
  • Ensure Quality Indicators are being monitored root cause identified and actions taken to rectify and progressively improve on it.
  • Conduct quarterly Endoscopy Clinical Meeting with the unit Gastroenterologists.
  • Perform any other related duties as assigned by the Senior Nursing Administration team.
  • Ensure all incident or near miss incident that occurred in the unit are reported in the Risk Management Reporting system. Ensure that investigations action plan and follow up on the incident are done timely.

Key Requirements:

  • State Registered Nurse recognized by the Malaysian Nursing Board.
  • Post Basic Certificate in Gastroenterology Nursing.
  • Possess current Annual Practicing License.
  • Diploma/ Certificate in Management is an added advantage.
  • Degree in Nursing is an added advantage.
  • Minimum three (3) years of experience in a supervisory capacity.
  • Good interpersonal relationship and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of principles of unit management.
  • Pleasant personality and selfmotivated.
  • Computer literate with good knowledge of written and spoken English.
