ROLE OVERVIEW
The Business Development Manager in the Sales Department of a fiberglass manufacturing organization is responsible for identifying and pursuing new business opportunities expanding market share and driving revenue growth. This role involves developing strategic sales plans building strong relationships with stakeholders and collaborating with cross-functional teams to achieve business objectives. The position is critical for expanding the customer base and maximizing profitability.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Business Development
Identify and evaluate new business opportunities target markets and potential customers.
Conduct market research and analysis to understand industry trends customer needs and the competitive landscape.
Develop and implement strategic sales plans to penetrate new markets expand the customer base and achieve revenue targets.
Sales and Revenue Generation
Drive the sales process from lead generation to closing deals ensuring a smooth and effective sales cycle.
Build and maintain a robust sales pipeline proactively engaging with potential clients and managing sales opportunities.
Conduct sales presentations negotiations and contract discussions to secure new business contracts.
Relationship Building
Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key customers strategic partners and industry stakeholders.
Collaborate with clients to understand their business requirements provide tailored solutions and address concerns.
Act as a trusted advisor to clients fostering long-term partnerships and driving customer loyalty.
Market Analysis and Strategy
Analyze market trends customer preferences and competitor activities to identify growth opportunities and optimize market positioning.
Develop market entry strategies pricing models and competitive differentiation strategies to gain a competitive edge.
Provide insights and recommendations to sales and marketing teams for product development and market expansion.
Cross-functional Collaboration
Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including marketing production and research and development to align sales strategies and deliver customer-centric solutions.
Participate in product development discussions providing market feedback and customer insights to guide product enhancements.
Coordinate with internal teams to ensure smooth project handover order fulfillment and customer satisfaction.
Sales Reporting and Forecasting
Prepare regular sales reports forecasts and performance analyses to track progress against targets.
Utilize CRM software and sales analytics tools to monitor sales activities pipeline and conversion rates.
Provide accurate sales forecasts and support budget planning and resource allocation decisions.
Networking and Industry Engagement
Represent the organization at industry events conferences and trade shows to enhance brand visibility and networking opportunities.
Stay updated on industry trends market developments and best practices through continuous learning and professional development.
Build a strong professional network and actively engage in industry associations and forums.
QUALIFICATIONS EXPERIENCE & SKILLS
Required Qualifications
Bachelor s degree in business administration marketing or a related field (MBA preferred).
5-10 years of relevant experience in sales and business development with a proven track record in petrochemical industrial or oil and gas sectors
Preferred Experience
Proven experience in business development and sales or a similar role in composite systems and/or OCTG manufacturing industry.
