Shear International Co. Ltd is looking for a Process Engineer in its Steel Foundry & Iron Casting Project in Jeddah KSA. The Process Engineer is responsible for developing monitoring and optimizing manufacturing processes within the steel foundry to ensure consistent production high-quality castings and operational efficiency. This role focuses on improving productivity reducing waste and supporting defect-free casting through process innovation documentation and technical troubleshooting.
Key Responsibilities:
Process Development & Optimization:
- Develop and standardize process parameters for each casting operation (molding melting pouring fettling heat treatment etc.).
- Analyze and refine foundry processes to improve yield reduce cycle time and minimize scrap or rework.
- Implement and monitor process controls to ensure stable and repeatable production.
Troubleshooting & Problem Solving:
- Investigate process-related issues causing defects or downtime.
- Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) and implement corrective/preventive actions (CAPA).
- Work closely with quality maintenance and production teams to resolve technical problems.
Data Collection & Analysis:
- Monitor production data and KPIs to identify process trends or deviations.
- Use tools such as SPC FMEA and Six Sigma methodologies to analyze and improve processes.
- Generate reports to track improvements and highlight cost-saving initiatives.
Documentation & Standardization:
- Create and maintain process documentation such as work instructions SOPs and process flow diagrams.
- Ensure compliance with internal quality systems and external regulatory standards.
Collaboration & Support:
- Support new product development and trial runs by defining optimal process parameters.
- Assist in the commissioning of new equipment or tools and train operators on new procedures.
- Provide technical support to production and maintenance teams.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Masters / Bachelors degree in Mechanical Metallurgical Industrial Engineering or a related field.
- 36 years of experience in foundry or heavy manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of steel casting processes and equipment.
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing Six Sigma 5S and Kaizen principles is a plus.
- Analytical mindset with excellent problem-solving skills.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work cross-functionally.
- Proficient in MS Office and production-related software; experience with ERP systems is a plus.
