The Fleet Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for ensuring the efficient safe and reliable operation of all vehicles and fleet equipment. This role oversees daily fleet maintenance activities manages the maintenance team and collaborates with operations to support continuous and uninterrupted transportation and delivery services. The Fleet Maintenance Supervisor ensures that all fleet assets are maintained in optimal working conditions in full compliance with safety quality and regulatory standards.
Main responsibilities
Accountability
- Develop implement and oversee preventive predictive and corrective maintenance plans for all fleet vehicles and equipment.
- Ensure timely execution of maintenance tasks to minimize vehicle downtime and ensure service reliability.
- Maintain high performance and reliability of vehicles through structured maintenance schedules and inspections.
- Oversee and direct fleet maintenance personnel ensuring adherence to safety regulations service standards and company policies.
- Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of engineers and technicians and support staff involved in vehicle servicing and repair.
- Diagnose Complex mechanical electrical and drivetrain issues ensuring timely and effective repairs.
- Lead or participate in root cause analyses to prevent recurring vehicle failures or breakdowns.
- Manage parts inventory to ensure availability of critical components minimizing vehicle downtime.
- Maintain accurate records of fleet maintenance service logs and inventory usage for audit and planning purposes.
- Ensure all maintenance activities comply with DOT regulations environmental guidelines and occupational health and safety standards.
- Verify all fleet assets meet legal and operational safety requirements.
- Monitor and control maintenance budgets; identify opportunities to reduce costs without sacrificing safety or quality.
- Track and report key performance indicators (KPIs) related to vehicle uptime repair turnaround time and maintenance cost.
- Coordinate closely with operations dispatch and logistics teams to align fleet availability with delivery and service schedules.
- Support cross-functional initiatives to improve overall operational efficiency.
- Lead initiatives to improve fleet reliability reduce repair times and optimize maintenance processes.

Job requirements
Required qualifications
- Bachelors degree or diploma in Mechanical Automotive Engineering or related field.
Preferred qualifications
Certifications in fleet maintenance
Required experience
8 years of experience in fleet or vehicle maintenance with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
Preferred experience
- Strong knowledge of vehicle diagnostics diesel/gasoline engines and fleet management software.
- Experience in commercial or transportation fleet environments (e.g. logistics delivery public transport).
- Working knowledge of DOT regulations and safety compliance.
- Strong leadership communication and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and maintenance tracking system.
