الوصف الوظيفي
- Organize the work for the day and ensure employees understand their duties and tasks
- Set performance and production targets for individual employees/ employee groups for that shift. Assign work for the employees/ employee groups of the shift
- Ensure DCGs equipment in the terminal assigned to are maintained as agreed and are always functional
- Organize and manage labor
- Inspect the work of the employees continuously during the shift guide and couch them to ensure defect free service delivery
- Evaluate staff performance together with the Junior Operations officer
- Ensure operational deadlines are met
- Plan the storage of cargo in a safe and efficient manner supervise the same and update warehouse plans etc.
- Approve all operational documents and submit to the logistics officer for recording
- Report to terminal manager during and after the work shift on issues arising
- Report any outside the norm issues to the terminal manager immediately when they arise
- Contribute to development of operational policies communicate them to relevant staff and ensure efficient implementation
- Assist the terminal manager to ensure IMS (ISO 9001:2015 ISO 14001:2015 and ISO 45001:2018) is implemented actively: SOPs process flow and related documents are updated and adhered by the staff.
- Any other reasonable duties assigned by a senior.
- Proven track record in supervising terminal operations and Inland Container Depot (ICD) activities including gate control yard planning and container movement
- Strong understanding of cargo flow management turnaround optimization and inventory control within our terminals
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively under high-pressure environments and deliver results within tight deadlines.
Requirements
- Candidates must minimally hold a Bachelors degree in Logistics Supply Chain management Business administration or any other related fields
- Proven track record in managing logistics and distribution operations at a superior or senior level
- Experience in managing teams and working with diverse stakeholder in the logistics and supply chain sector.
- Knowledge of local Tanzania regulations regarding import/export custom clearance and transportation logistics is essential.
- Strong leadership na managemnet skills with the ability to oversee and optimize operations
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced deadline driven environment.
- Attention to detail and organizational skills
- Past experience in working in logistics industry
- Any experience of working with DCG will be an added advantage
