As Head of Category Growth & Strategic Initiatives you launch and scale new businesses that open fresh sources of growth and you own the cross-category programs automation and strategic initiatives that power the entire retail business. You drive Amazon Nows path to profitability through cross-functional excellence; connecting selection pricing vendor management and operations into one accountable growth engine. You are not running one category; you are building the systems every category runs on: the selection and pricing frameworks the vendor programs that improve terms and fill the growth initiatives the automation that removes manual work and the metrics and cadences that keep the business rigorous. You will own shaping this new capability yourself from the strategy down to the detail and get things done directly rather than from a distance.

We are looking for a Business builder who thinks in systems and unit economics is energized by ambiguity stays hands-on and wants to leave a mark on how an entire business operates.

Key job responsibilities
- Launch and scale new businesses and growth opportunities beyond the current model from strategy and business case
- Own these bets end to end and drive them to measurable growth and margin outcomes
- Own the cross-category programs frameworks and initiatives that drive growth and profitability across the whole retail business
- Set the roadmap for how categories select price and operate and be accountable for adoption and impact against the plan
- Drive path to profitability through cross-functional excellence
- Report progress weekly against the plan surface risks early and drive the actions that close variance to target
- Build the vendor programs that improve terms funding fill rate and selection at scale
- Negotiate and structure strategic vendor deals and joint business plans that unlock growth
- Own the selection strategy at the system level the rules and tooling for what gets listed expanded and retired based on customer needs
- Own the pricing and promotion frameworks that balance customer value with healthy unit economics across categories
- Replace manual repetitive category work with automation and repeatable process you design and ship

- Experience building scalable programs and repeatable scalable processes levering various tools and methods to create scale and efficiency
- 5 years of contributing to cross-functional initiatives that drive financial performance and strategy experience
- Experience in vendor negotiations pricing and promotion inventory management and product development
- Experience in business analysis and functional roles requiring quantitative analytical and organizational skills
- Experience Experienced with end-to-end ownership of major project deliverables
- Experience working with Excel and large-scale data mining and reporting tools such as Python SQL or Tableau or experience performing ad hoc analysis using advanced Excel
- 7 of experience in category management commercial strategy program management or business excellence in retail e-commerce FMCG or quick-commerce

- Bachelors degree in business administration finance economics computer science data science engineering or other related field
