Animals Asia is devoted to ending bear bile farming and improving the welfare of animals across Asia. Animals Asia is currently seeking to recruit a qualified candidate for the position Professional Education Officer with details as follows:

Position: Professional Education Officer

Employment type: Full-time

Contract duration: One-year contract extendable based on performance with initial 2-month probationary period
Work location: Ha Noi

Role Purpose: To lead the delivery and development of high-impact animal sentience and welfare training for professional educators in Vietnam and support educators to integrate these concepts into their teaching and research. Deliver educational resources to students and the public.

Responsibilities:

Program Delivery and Training

  • Oversee the departments professional education delivery program in Vietnam.
  • Coordinate and support department staff to deliver engaging and practical training sessions workshops and materials for educators and academics on animal sentience and welfare.
  • Monitor collect data on and evaluate the outcomes and impact of training programs.
  • Provide specialist expertise and content support to the Students & Public Education team for activities in schools communities and universities.
  • Develop and deliver educational activities for school-aged children and university students in schools communities and universities to raise awareness of elephant sentience welfare and conservation and to build support for ending the use of elephants in riding tourism.
  • Organise World Elephant Day awareness events to broaden the public perception on elephant sentience welfare & conservation;
  • Assist other departments in delivering social media activities and awareness campaigns on elephant and animal sentience & welfare;

Administrative Operational and Strategic Support

  • Provide regular reports on program delivery progress and impact.
  • Collaborate with the Media team by providing specialist content for public communication campaigns.
  • Supply project updates and impact reports to the Supporter Engagement team for funding communication.
  • Assist the Department Director in preparing detailed weekly monthly quarterly and annual reports.
  • Contribute to the development and execution of annual project funding plans and the Departments strategic objectives.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Department Director and other Education team members.

Requirements

Skills / Abilities

  • Proven experience in delivering animal welfare education programmes in schools
  • Experience in evaluating the outcome and impact of project delivery.
  • Experience collaborating with diverse individuals and organisations.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to prioritise tasks and support multiple teams.
  • Strong computer literacy and proficiency with MS Office and Google Office.
  • Experience in managing volunteers.
  • Experience in managing databases.
  • Ability and willingness to travel as needed to support projects.
  • Ability to work flexible hours as required.

Knowledge

  • Technical expertise in the delivery of education programs and training.
  • Strong practical knowledge of animal sentience & welfare concepts.

Experience

  • At least 3 years of experience in educational delivery in schools.
  • Proven experience in delivering educational resources to meet program objectives.
  • Experience working within an international team.

Education / Qualification

At least a university bachelors degree in Education/English/Marketing or a related field.

Languages: Native Vietnamese and strong English (written and spoken).
