Principal Automation Test Engineer (Automation Test Lead)

• Independently orchestrate and execute comprehensive testing strategies leveraging deep client domain knowledge to significantly elevate software quality and reliability.
• Act as a high-level consultant by exploring the clients business landscape and product vision. You will leverage technical expertise to architect and recommend cutting-edge testing strategies streamlined processes and optimal toolstacks.
• Serve as a key technical point of contact collaborating directly with project teams and clients through daily strategic meetings and weekly alignment sessions.
• Oversee the day-to-day operations provide status updates manage resource allocation effectively following a staffing plan connect with ITPMs independently and clients stakeholder interaction for the Squad(s).
• Critically analyze requirements specifications and test artifacts to provide high-value actionable feedback that shapes product development.
• Expertly prioritize complex tasks and provide precise effort estimations to ensure project milestones are met with excellence.
• Take full responsibility for developing maintaining and executing sophisticated automated tests ensuring robust coverage.
• Beyond tracking defects you will perform deep-dive root cause analysis to address systemic quality issues and optimize the overall testing lifecycle.
• Seamlessly coordinate diverse work activities and manage stakeholder expectations to deliver premium-quality products on schedule.
• Mentor and guide junior members of the test automation team sharing best practices and knowledge.

Qualifications :

•  
• 8 years of professional experience in Testing encompassing API UI and Mobile platforms.
• At least 6 years of hands-on experience with Selenium Katalon or Playwright with a proven track record of building and scaling automation frameworks from the ground up.
• Demonstrated experience in designing owning and maintaining complex automation frameworks throughout the entire product lifecycle
• Strong programming skills in JavaScript or TypeScript; proficiency in additional programming languages is highly regarded
• Deep understanding of SDLC and Agile methodologies enabling fluid adaptation in fast-paced environments
• Proficiency in Cloud and CI/CD ecosystems including AWS/Azure Docker Kubernetes and Jenkins
• Solid expertise in test strategy test planning and test techniques including black-box risk-based exploratory and non-UI testing.
• Solid expertise in test planning and diverse techniques such as black-box risk-based exploratory and non-UI testing
• Excellent English communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact directly with clients and internal teams.
• Willingness and ability to travel frequently to Malaysia for onsite work and client engagement is a plus.

• Proficient daily use of AI coding tools (Copilot Cursor Claude Code) across the full SDLC
• Able to decompose complex tasks provide effective context and apply chain-of-thought and multi-step prompting workflows
• Experience with agentic workflows and AI-driven development frameworks
• Hands-on experience integrating AI tools with other systems via MCP (Model Context Protocol) or equivalent
• Awareness of emerging AI tools and willingness to evaluate and adopt new capabilities
