Job Description

The opportunity is to join AstraZeneca as a key sales manager responsible for launching and delivering the Franchise.The district business manager willberesponsible fordevelopment and management of a district with the goal of maximizing sales to achieving established revenue and profit goals. Strongpeopleleadership and acommitment to developing people is key to the role. Leaddirectand manage the customer activities of sales representatives within a geographic area. Manage expenses inafiscallyresponsible manner. Participate in national regional and local strategic meetings as well as lead meetings with respective team.

What youll do

Typical Accountabilities

  • Develop and deploy customer strategies to achieve businesss goalsmaintain/improve sales profit and market share with current and future indications.

  • Responsible for leading teachingmotivatingand inspiring a team ofrepresentatives to achieve or exceedsales objectivesin their sales region.

  • Proven ability to motivate and coach sales team to meet goals andobjectives.

  • Lead a team of sales representatives to promote product(s) to targeted physiciansand accounts to achieve/exceed specific business goals.

  • Work with sales representatives on a consistent basis evaluating coaching.

  • Attractcoachandretainindividuals who will ensure high-level performance.

  • Direct the territory representative in the acquisitionexpansionand retention oftargeted business within the assigned geographic area.

  • Develop plans that effectively translate national strategy at the district level.

  • Work with leadership to define andestablishappropriate behaviorsand actionsthat will lead to sales growth acceleration in the geographic area.

  • Fully engage with key customers by developing and implementing strategies thatsupport the growth of assigned product(s).

  • Participate in and contribute to commercial team planning sessions as requestedrepresentingthe needs of customers and the sales team and driving businessbuilding plans of the organization.

  • Operate within compliance guidelines at all timesandobserveall healthsafetyandenvironmental guidelines.

  • Provide regular coaching including written and verbal feedback following customerand field visits that address and support both the business development and careerdevelopment needs of the team.

Education Qualifications Skills and Experience

  • Bachelors degree is required (advanced degree preferred).

  • 5 years of related pharmaceutical experience or an MBA/MS with 4 years of experience.

  • Demonstrated leadership potential or experience in leading/mentoring sales teams with a strong track record of driving results and motivating others

  • Consistent documented sales results in ImmunologyBiologicsor rare disease area

  • Strong ability to assess and develop people

  • Strong business acumen and understanding of customer needs

  • Critical thinking skills and strategic thinker

  • Data analysis experience with the ability to translate findings into sales strategies

  • Excellent communication skills including written oral as well as presentationcapabilities

  • Team-oriented with strong leadership capabilities

  • Self-starter and proactively driving projects toward successful completion

  • Experience in specialty sales with an understanding of reimbursement distribution andmanaged care processes as well aspreviousnational/corporate accounts managedmarkets hospital markets various sites of care IV medications injectables andMedicare

  • Demonstrates structured and measured leadershipinteractionsanddecision-makingduring periods of high intensity in external or internal deliberations

  • A flexible team orientated attitude willing to contribute own skills to deliver AstraZenecapriority projects
