The Warehouse Receiving Supervisor is responsible for overseeing all inbound shipments ensuring accurate and timely receipt of goods and maintaining efficient warehouse operations. This role supervises receiving staff enforces safety and quality standards and coordinates with vendors carriers and internal departments to ensure smooth workflow.
Key Responsibilities
Supervise and coordinate daily receiving operations including unloading inspecting and verifying incoming shipments with multiple LTL/Freight carriers
Ensure all deliveries are checked against purchase orders and properly documented
Lead train and evaluate receiving staff to maintain productivity and accuracy
Maintain inventory accuracy through proper receipts and corrective measures
Enforce safety procedures and ensure compliance with company policies and OSHA regulations
Investigate and resolve discrepancies damages or shortages in shipments
Coordinate dock schedules and communicate with carriers and suppliers
Monitor and improve receiving processes for efficiency and cost-effectiveness
Maintain a clean organized and safe receiving area
Collaborate with warehouse inventory and procurement teams
Responsible for receiving equipment like fork lifts pallet jacks etc
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED required (Associates or Bachelors degree preferred)
5 plus years of warehouse experience with at least 12 years in a supervisory role
Strong knowledge of receiving inventory control and warehouse operations
Experience with warehouse management systems (WMS) and basic computer skills
Ability to operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment
Excellent leadership communication and problem-solving skills
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly
Standing walking bending and lifting for extended periods
Comfortable working in varying warehouse conditions (temperature noise etc.)
Work Environment
Fast-paced warehouse setting
Hours are Monday Friday 8-5 and depending on business needs
