Job Summary
The VP Government Relations is a key member of Solidigms executive leadership team responsible for building and managing the companys relationships with government officials regulatory bodies and policy makers at the federal state and international levels. Reporting directly to the Co-Chief Executive Officer (Co-CEO) this individual will establish Solidigms government relations function shaping the companys policy positions and ensuring Solidigms interests are represented effectively across all relevant legislative and regulatory environments. This role requires a seasoned government relations professional with deep expertise in the semiconductor and technology sectors a strong existing network across key government stakeholders and the ability to navigate complex geopolitical and policy landscapes in support of Solidigms long-term strategic objectives. Key Responsibilities
- Build and manage Solidigms government relations function from the ground up developing a comprehensive strategy for engagement with federal state local and international government stakeholders.
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with elected officials regulatory agencies and government bodies relevant to the semiconductor storage and technology industries including the Department of Commerce Department of Defense and the United States Trade Representative (USTR).
- Monitor analyze and communicate the potential impact of legislative and regulatory developments on Solidigms business including trade policy export controls national security reviews supply chain policy and semiconductor industry legislation such as the Creating Helpful Incentives to Produce Semiconductors (CHIPS) Act.
- Serve as Solidigms primary liaison to industry associations including the Semiconductor Industry Association (SIA) and SEMI representing Solidigms interests in coalitions working groups and industry advocacy efforts.
- Partner with the Co-Chief Executive Officer (Co-CEO) General Counsel and Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to develop and communicate Solidigms policy positions on issues impacting the companys strategic and capital markets agenda.
- Lead Solidigms engagement with Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States (CFIUS) processes serving as the primary point of coordination between Solidigm SK hynix legal counsel and relevant government agencies on national security and foreign investment reviews.
- Support export control compliance frameworks in partnership with Legal and Finance ensuring Solidigms operations remain aligned with applicable regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate with Solidigms parent company SK hynix on international government relations matters managing geopolitical considerations and ensuring alignment on cross-border policy issues.
- Develop and maintain a government relations calendar including congressional hearings regulatory comment periods industry association meetings and key policy events relevant to Solidigms business.
- Prepare executive briefings policy position papers testimony and other materials to support leadership engagement with government stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with the Lobbying Disclosure Act (LDA) and all applicable federal and state lobbying registration and reporting requirements in close coordination with Legal counsel.
Qualifications :
- Master of Business Administration (MBA) Juris Doctor (J.D.) or Masters degree in Public Policy International Relations or a related field required.
- 10 years of experience in government relations public policy or regulatory affairs; semiconductor technology or manufacturing industry experience strongly preferred.
- Established relationships with key federal government stakeholders including members of Congress congressional staff and executive branch agencies relevant to the technology and semiconductor sectors.
- Deep understanding of trade policy export controls supply chain legislation and national security frameworks including Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States (CFIUS) processes and the Creating Helpful Incentives to Produce Semiconductors (CHIPS) Act.
- Direct experience navigating Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States (CFIUS) reviews particularly in the context of foreign-owned or foreign-affiliated technology companies.
- Working knowledge of the Lobbying Disclosure Act (LDA) and federal and state lobbying registration and reporting obligations with a commitment to full regulatory compliance.
- Proven ability to build and manage a government relations function including the development of policy positions advocacy strategies and stakeholder engagement plans.
- Exceptional executive presence with the ability to represent Solidigm credibly with senior government officials industry leaders and board-level stakeholders.
- Highly collaborative with the ability to work cross-functionally across Legal Finance and executive leadership.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to translate complex policy and regulatory issues into clear actionable guidance for business leaders.
- Willingness to travel frequently to Washington D.C. and other locations to support government and regulatory engagements if not based in the Washington D.C. area.
Preferred Skills & Competencies
- Prior experience in a government role such as congressional staff executive branch or regulatory agency position.
- Familiarity with international government relations particularly in Asia-Pacific markets relevant to the semiconductor supply chain.
- Active membership and leadership experience within the Semiconductor Industry Association (SIA) SEMI or comparable industry associations.
- Experience supporting a company through a major strategic transaction or capital markets milestone with government relations implications.
